Binsar - A Bird Watcher’s Paradise
The sleepy region of Binsar is one of the scenic places of Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. Perched at an elevation of 2420 metres, Binsar is known for offering spell-binding views of the majestic Himalayan peaks such as Chaukhamba, Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot, Panchachuli, and Kedarnath. The main attraction of Binsar is the 300 kms of majestic and panoramic view of Himalayan peaks from Zero point.
This compact hill town is encircled by the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary which serves as a habitat for the rare animals, birds and flower species. Since the place is wrapped up in thick foliage, it is undoubtedly the best place for experiencing adventurous hiking, camping and nature walks.
 

How to Reach Binsar?

Kathgodam is the nearest rail head that is well connected to Delhi (overnight journey) and other major cities. The fastest, easiest albeit a bit more expensive way to go to Binsar is to take a cab from Kathgodam. Alternatively, you could take a local bus or shared cab to Almora and then hire a cab from there to take you to the wildlife sanctuary.

By Plane
Direct Delhi to Binsar flights is not available as Binsar lacks an airport. So Delhi to Binsar flight travel is not possible, but a flight can be taken from Delhi to Pantnagar. The nearest airport from Binsar is in Pantnagar which is 152 km away. From Pantnagar, cabs can be hired to cover the remaining distance to reach Binsar.

By Train
No direct Delhi to Binsar train service is available. Instead, Delhi metro can be taken from Barakhamba Road to Yamuna Bank which takes only 9 minutes. Then another Delhi metro train has to be taken from Yamuna Bank to Anand Vihar Trm. From Anand Vihar Trm, Indian railway trains are available towards Kathgodam. Finally, cab services are available from Kathgodam to Binsar covering a distance of 130 km and taking 2 hours and 40 minutes.

By Bus
Direct Delhi to Binsar bus service is not available, but Binsar can be reached by taking a bus and then a cab. Buses can be taken from Delhi to Nainital. The travel by bus in this route takes time of about 9 hours and 15 minutes. The price for the bus for one way varies from INR 550 to INR 750 depending upon the type of service. From Nainital, cabs are always available for hire to reach Binsar. This travel will take around 2 hours and 15 minutes as a distance of 110 km has to be covered from Nainital to Binsar. The total cab fare will range from INR 3100 to INR 3700 depending upon the type of cab and service.
